Tanner Gun Show, Denver - report
I went to the Tanner Gun Show at the Denver Merchandise Mart. I was able to pick up 80 SKS stripper clips for $36, a REAL 5-round Chinese integral SKS magazine for $40, two Chinese SKS clip pouch vests for $10 each, an AMS gun case for $23, and a removable 5-round SKS magazine for $15.
It was busy when I got there (about 1:00 p.m.), but things had really slowed down when I left at 3:30 p.m. I was struck by how many people were looking at (and buying) pistols. Long guns were available for reasonable prices, but it seemed like the biggest crowds were around the pistol tables. Also, quite a bit of business at the magazine/clip tables. I saw Glock 33-rounders going for $40! I remember I picked some up a year ago for only $26. I was keeping my eyes open for SKSs, and the prices were much higher than I expected. One booth had some crates of cosmo'd Yugos for $250 each and they looked to be moving quite quickly (I can still get them for $190 locally). There was one mis-marked Sino-Soviet for $345, one Paratrooper M (AK magazines) for $600, and one Chinese original 20-rounder (rough shape) for $350. I didn't see any SKSs for less than $250. Crazy. Must be time to stock up. Romanian AKs were available for as low as $410, and I saw plenty of Garrands in the $600 price range. Overheard: At one table a guy selling mags was telling his customer, "Have you heard about this 'omero' thing? I just heard someone on the radio say that it might replace the dollar." The customer had not heard of the amero, and the vendor didn't have a clue about it. For someone selling gun mags on 6 or 7 tables you would think he would have heard about it. Strange to find sheeple among gun buffs, but they are all around us. |
Re: Tanner Gun Show, Denver - report
I gotta ask - is .45 each a good price for SKS strippers nowadays? At those prices I got a bunch that I may want to sell if that is the case, and a chest pouch too? what is a 53 Russian worth ?

$0.45 is a GREAT price for SKS clips. Most of them at the show were going for $10.00 / dozen. $9.00 for 20 is the best I've seen anywhere locally. And the ones I picked up were completely rust free and packed well in oil. |

Sounds like you did well. :applause_
I went to a show here in Texas and got (2) FAL mags (20-rnds) + a loader all for $10 bucks ! Small purchase but needed. |
